Try This: Salad Spinner

May 19, 2010 by Charity

You can find salad spinners at most department stores, online and from catalog companies like Pampered Chef!

One of the great perks of belonging to a CSA is getting fresh produce, often harvested the same day we get it! And although the farmer and his crew do a great job of packaging and cleaning items, there will be some dirt. For “fragile” produce like lettuce, a salad spinner will help you wash the produce, and then get the excess water off before you eat it. Spinners are very easy to use! You simply wash your lettuce, and then put it in the spinner basket and spin it to spin the water off of the lettuce. You can then dump the water out and serve right out of the spinner bowl if you want! It is a great way to make salad less soggy!
